A small tree with a place attached
Dua Lipa’s palm-tree tattoo sits on the back of her left upper arm, just above the elbow. In British GQ’s April 2018 interview, the tree is linked to her first month writing songs in Los Angeles. A beauty interview reproduced in her record label’s press kit also records Lipa saying she got the palm in LA.
The design is narrow and lightly shaded: arching fronds gather above a long, gently curved trunk with a short flared base. Bustle’s photo credited to Lipa’s Instagram shows the complete tree beside her bent elbow. A separate red-carpet photograph reproduced by ELLE Australia confirms its placement, proportions and full crown-to-base outline. The nearby “245” lettering is a separate tattoo.

The paired design is an AI-assisted reconstruction from those two real views. It retains the full frond-to-base footprint and open spacing, with transparent negative space and soft gray pigment. The selfie is mirrored; the red-carpet view establishes the reconstruction’s orientation. Keep the palm small above the elbow to echo its photographed scale. This is a reconstruction of the visible tattoo, rather than the artist’s original stencil; the sources used here do not establish the artist.
