A note on her wrist

When Selena Gomez's first tattoo appeared in 2012, some viewers mistook its tiny shape for a heart. Gomez told E! it was a music note on her right wrist and connected it to music's influence in her life. Steal Her Style identifies the artist as Louie Gomez of Under the Gun Tattoo in Hollywood.

The black note sits along the outside of the wrist, just above the crease. Its rounded head, rising stem, and short descending hook form one compact mark. The paired try-on design follows the complete shape and small scale visible in the event portrait and a separate close photograph.
